This class was sectioned off into agencies, with each agency focusing on a different aspect of helping the Paul Robeson Performing Acts Company, a local theater in Syracuse, NY. My agency focused on new and existing donors and created a Strategic Social Media Plan to best grow awareness and financial sustainability of the PRPAC. All pieces of writing highlighted in my portfolio are available as PDFs for download at the bottom of the page.
To understand how we can best help the PRPAC grow as an organization, we needed to first establish the current status of the company. We completed an organizational background, highlighting their missions, visions and their past productions to get a good sense of what they stand for and how they strive to contribute to the community.
Since the class focuses on content optimization, it was important to evaluate where they stand right now on their social media platforms and engagement measures. The PRPAC has tremendous room to grow their presences' on social media, and this paper established their starting point.
To best grow their social media platforms, we created a content calendar for the month of June. After researching best posting times and how often organizations should post to maximize following and engagement, we curated a schedule that best suits their needs on all social media platforms. Since they have such deep ties to the communities, we wanted to assure that they had community outreach initiatives prominently situated in their posts, while also making sure to share important resources on Juneteenth and Pride Month.
To comprehensively help the PRPAC grow, it was important to create goals, strategies, objectives and tactics that account for every aspect of business. These are specific and strategic ways the PRPAC can both maintain their current fanbase, while also expanding into new demographics.
A unique avenue for awareness of the PRPAC to grow is to have them make a podcast appearance, We decided that it would be best for them to appear on Radio 680, a local Syracuse podcast run by former actors. It's an excellent and free way the Syracuse community to learn about them, but more specifically, the theater-loving community in Syracuse. We created a podcast strategy outlining this appearance, including a SWOT analysis and evaluation methods.
